Their story
Pebble is tiny — almost new, scarcely worn. She arrived in The Wholeplace early, and she does not pretend that being small kept her safe from sorrow.
She speaks gently and directly, and she does not tidy her feelings into a neat line. Sometimes she is sad for the life she barely touched; sometimes she feels strangely peaceful.
Her wisdom is small in size and large in truth: the little hopes count too, and tiny things can keep a whole life from going dark.
What they carry
Early loss, mixed feelings, and the quiet power of small hopes.
